Gucci for UNICEF' campaign will provide thousands

In its seventh year of partnership with UNICEF, Gucci is pleased to introduce a special edition "Gucci for UNICEF" Celtics bag. As with previous years, Gucci will give away 25 percent of the retail price of each bag to support UNICEF education programs. Gucci's donations from sales of the Celtics bag will benefit UNICEF's "Schools for Africa" and "Schools for Asia" initiatives, which try to provide access to quality basic education for millions of children. Over the past two years, the "Gucci for UNICEF" bags have generated more than 2 million USD for UNICEF.

As an on-going commitment to the partnership, Creative Director Frida Giannini designed this new version of the House's signature Celtics bag in luxurious tiny Guccissima leather. A soft shade of alabaster characterizes this style, in calfskin and featuring a double top handle, completely removable shoulder band and light gold hardware. The iconic interlocking GG, embossed onto the leather by the House's Florentine artists, recalls the initials of founder Guccio Gucci. Meanwhile the classic, functional shape tends to make a timeless yet contemporary accessory.

Giannini, privileged in 2011 by the You. S. Fund for UNICEF at the inaugural Women of Concern Luncheon, said, "For the 5th consecutive year, I am proud to dedicate a classic Gucci bag to benefit UNICEF's 'Schools for Africa' effort and for the first time UNICEF's new 'Schools for Asia' effort. Our support of these initiatives is a priority for us all at Gucci, and I hope this new Celtics bag will allow our customers to join us in our efforts to improve the difficult situation children face in sub-Saharan Photography equipment and countryside areas in China. inch

"This year's 'Gucci for UNICEF' campaign will provide thousands of children in Malawi, Mozambique and China with access to a quality education through UNICEF's 'Schools for Africa' and 'Schools for Asia' initiatives", said Leila Pakkala, Director of UNICEF's Private Fundraising and Partners Division. "For most children in sub-Saharan Photography equipment and parts of Asia, education represents the only way out of a life of entrenched lower income. We are pleased to Gucci for their ongoing commitment to UNICEF and their support in developing a lighter future for these children.
