Launch of the IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days at Malmaison

Malmaison by The Hour Glass was the ideal setting to launch a gentlemen's watch, the IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days, using the straps handcrafted by the legendary Italian shoemaker Santoni. VIPs and collectors from IWC and the Hour Glass had been invited to preview the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days which comes in combinations of a red-gold case with slate-grey colored dial and a dark brown alligator leather strap; and stainless steel case, in either black dial with a dark brown strap, or silvered dial and a brown strap.

Other watches from the Portofino family, like the automatics and chronographs, were also on display. The evening was a perfect expression of a sophisticated men's world, the classic elegance of the Portofino Hand-Wound and also the special beauty of the watch straps brought forth with installations of Santoni shoes on display amidst the fascinating interior of Malmaison, with its luxurious furnishings and oddly fantastic objects. Only in such a setting could one fully appreciate and recognize the union of a luxury watchmaker as well as a bespoke shoemaker, and that a watch is actually a sight to behold when deemed the sum of all its parts.
