The designer's favourite component of the process was showing her fans such an insider view into the workings of the label. The tome features beautiful imagery of her textile patterns, her family, behind the scenes studio and backstage shots and Temperley's most iconic work.
"It is actually a extremely open document, a total look into the globe of Temperley and an honest account of building a brand," she told us. "I love the personal silly images, showing that we can of course laugh at ourselves. Some in there I like watching people's reactions to. I love the mood boards which explains my creative journey and giving an insight into my archive. I wanted to show the process of style, in front of and behind the scenes. This tends to make it a very real story of an impartial design house."
Temperley, who showed her latest spring/summer 2012 collection last week, recruited her closest friends and family to perform on Accurate British - which launches next month.
"My sister Matilda helped me archive everything; she is a photographer with work in the book, and was also picture editor throughout," explained Temperley. "Priscille Neefs came on board with the style and Chairman Griffin, a brilliant creative writer, to tell the story. We pulled the book and design with each other more than a five-month period, in all of my minimal spare time."
The designer says the creating of her tome was a hugely gratifying experience.
"It brought back again a whole lot of fun memories and it was a very rewarding collaboration with my team," she explained. "It feels remarkable to be able to see all of the hard function more than the years condensed into a book and to be able to share it with everyone. On 1 hand it seems like a lifetime and on the other just like the beginning."
