Most importantly, the watches time

With much anticipation for Citizen's latest release, the Eco-Drive Distance Wireless bluetooth watch is now finally for sale (see the aBlogtoWatch hands-on review here). To help launch this release, Arizona Fine Time will be hosting an event at our store in Chandler, AZ December 28th 2012 from 3-7pm. During the event, we will have Person USA's Director of After Sales Service (who is their lead technology expert) yours for the taking doing a special demonstration on the new Distance Wireless bluetooth watch and how it works. Following each presentation, there will be a Q&A session for searching customers. We'll also have free food, drinks and matches for anyone in work. With the purchase of any Person product, we'll have T-shirts, hats and other promotional items. If you're in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area, it will definitely be worth checking out.

If you are not yet familiar with the Distance, it is Citizen's first Wireless bluetooth controlled timepiece that is solar powered and completely analog. So far, the Distance is only best with iphone 4S or 5 and there are rumours that Android mobile phone will be a possibility for next year (though no guarantee).

Distance attaches to iphone via Wireless bluetooth 4. 0, which is currently the lowest energy consuming Wireless bluetooth. Once the free iphone app for your phone is down loaded, you can do the initial partnering with the watch by modifying to the partnering mode (ADVERTISING) on the 6 o'clock bass speaker switch. The modalities are adjusted by pulling the the queen's out one click, and rotating. Once the 1st partnering has been established, you can get in touch the Wireless bluetooth by either modifying to the connect mode (CT) or by pushing and holding the top of right button approximately 2-3 seconds. The watch and phone need to be used for the initial pair, or reconnection. Should you leave the Wireless bluetooth on, Distance will automatically detach after six hours to save energy.

The different functions utilizing the Wireless bluetooth are very cool. While connected, your watch will inform you of newly arriving phone calls, emails (for about five different email accounts), appointments signals and, if you lose connection. This indication is established by a subtle vibration of the watch and the resale pointing to the appropriate indicator (11 o'clock-for calls, 10 for email or appointments, and 9 for lost connection). The second hand will stay pointing at the indicator unless you press the top of right button for a couple seconds, and then will jump back to perfect time. There is a ten meter synchronize range, so if you go outside of that, you will receive notification. If you're quick enough to get back within range, it will automatically get in touch.

Another Wireless bluetooth feature included is a phone person, which is one of my favorites. Should you lose your phone, you can push and support the second and lower right button for about 3 seconds. Even if your phone is on silent in every way, the telephone will ring through the iphone app at full volume. Surprisingly, you don't have to be connected for this feature, you must do the initial pair.

Most importantly, the watches time, date and accuracy are all updated by the phone. This is very convenient in traveling, as long as you have your phone set up to auto adjust timezones. Since the iphone is accurate to the atomic time, your Distance will be as well. You can always calibrate the time on the watch to the phone by pushing the bottom right button for three seconds. Without the updates, they are accurate to -/+ 15 seconds a month.

On top of all that, this piece has a chronograph, continuous appointments, and a supplementary timezone that can be displayed by changing to the local time mode (L-TM). May 24 hour display, Wireless bluetooth connection display, and a power reserve display. The ability reserve is apart from what most Citizen's are capable of, lasting eight months in the dark using Wireless bluetooth, and a whole teen months without.
